He Told His Mom On Me

MEN! I tell ya, sometimes you tell them one little thing and they get all crazy acting. He just happened to call me while I was at the hospital after my surgery during a bad few hours. Yes I had surgery, no I didn't talk about it on my blog. So he calls me, from Iraq and hears how miserable and sore and pitiful I am. He then calls after I'm discharged and realized my family (they came to help me after my surgery) had to leave today and I'd be on my own after only being home for one full day. So what does he do?

HE CALLED HIS MOM!!

I'm almost 30 man! you can't call your mommy and tell on me! Just because you're not here to know for yourself that I'm okay doesn't mean you get to tell on me!

If everything had gone as it should have gone I'd be just freakin fine. Why the heck did it have to get complicated? The surgery was the most violating thing I'd ever had to go through. It involved lots of torturous devices and 3 slings and a catheter and some other mean mean things. Well when they took the catheter and I wasn't able to urinate on my own they decided I got a parting gift!

Not like your typical parting gift from game shows either. No no no let me tell you about mine! It's a Foley catheter! Yay me! Complete with night bag and two legs bags. Its horribly uncomfortable, horribly embarrassing and is slowing my recovery dang it all!

So my parents left today and Kirke called his mom yesterday and she's driving here from Texas right now. I love that she can come and help but I hate feeling so helpless. I want my husband home to take care of me and hold me when I'm crying in pain and frustration.

I damn well better be healed by the time he gets home because I deserve to get a little action after all this torture!!

Oh gosh!! Michelle! I hope you feel better real soon!! I'm glad that you have a MIL that can come like that. Mine would never do that. (and at this point, I wouldn't want her here!!) Roger's MIL would be here for him in a heartbeat! Good luck - get better soon! It's no fun being sick. . . especially with extra devises! Yikes!

You are luck to have family to take care of you. I'm sure it sucks to have the foley, but I wish I could have but it in. I could use the practice. hehehe. Well feel better soon, you deserve to have a good time when Kirke get home.

As for the catheter? Eww - and I'm sorry. As for the call to his mom? My husband did a similar thing when he was deployed and I got sick. Mercifully, his mom doesn't live around here, though, so he called our friends and made them drive over to the house to check up on me. I was mortified because I looked like a big fat turd (seeing as I was sick and all), but it would have been way worse if it was his mom.

I hope you're feeling better! I totally would have called mom, too. I admit it. It would be much better for your husband to be home with you, but at least he had someone he knew he could trust to check up on you and mother you.

I see that the other "Roger" has been here already. :) Hope that you are feeling better, and unfortunately, everything Jenni says is true, about my mom. She's just weird like that.
